BMW 320 Group 5
Complete restoration of the original BMW Sweden Group 5 racing car driven by Bo “Emma” Emanuelsson.
Chris Greenwood undertook the comprehensive restoration of this historic BMW 320 Group 5, raced internationally in 1978 by Swedish driver Bo Emanuelsson.
The car was completely stripped to a bare shell before undergoing a full restoration, encompassing the bodywork, engine, gearbox, suspension and mechanical systems, followed by complete reassembly.
A BMW with International Racing History
Entered by Bo Emanuelsson Racing with BMW Sweden support, this BMW 320 competed in the 1978 World Championship for Makes, including appearances at Mugello, Dijon, Silverstone and the Nürburgring.
The car achieved notable results, including fourth place at Dijon and sixth at Mugello.
Its distinctive white, blue and yellow Torline-sponsored livery has been faithfully recreated, including the period race number 51 and driver names.
Complete Race Car Restoration
The restoration undertaken by Chris Greenwood involved the complete dismantling and rebuilding of the car, including the body shell, engine, transmission, suspension and associated mechanical components.
The project demonstrates our expertise in restoring historically significant competition cars while preserving their character, appearance and motorsport heritage.
