Competition Classics is an East Sussex-based classic and historic car specialist founded and led by Chris Greenwood, whose working life has been shaped by classic cars, engineering and historic motorsport.

Chris has built his reputation through practical, hands-on experience: building, restoring, preparing and racing cars rather than simply managing the work from a distance.

That experience includes working on many significant historic racing cars. Highlights include:

Significant BMW 3.0 CSL competition machinery. In 2016,   Chris rebuilt BMW Motorsport chassis 2275998, the Dieter Quester and Toine Hezemans car that finished 11th overall and won its class at the 1973 24 Hours of Le Mans. His CSL experience also includes the Ickx Bell Car and the construction of Competition Classics' own historic race CSL.

About Competition Classics
Our Experience
Competition Classics is based in Uckfield, East Sussex, providing specialist classic car restoration, servicing, engineering, historic race preparation and secure vehicle storage.

Our workshop is equipped to support everything from routine maintenance and fault diagnosis to major restoration projects, fabrication and the preparation of historic competition cars.

For our clients, the benefit is having multiple specialist services available through one experienced team. A car can be inspected, maintained, restored, developed, stored or prepared for an event without being passed between unrelated suppliers.

We work with owners from East Sussex, Kent, Surrey, London and across the UK, as well as clients and cars from further afield.

Competition Classics' experience extends from workshop preparation to international historic motorsport. We prepare, develop and support historic competition cars for racing in the UK and Europe, including cars eligible for leading historic race series and events.
Our involvement can range from individual preparation and engineering work through to transport, testing and complete race weekend support.
